The Civil Society Network – EUSDR

The Civil Society Network EUSDR has evolved from the official opening event of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region on 11 July 2011 at the Haus der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart, Germany.

Ever since, this informal network is meeting regularly in different locations in Baden-Württemberg discussing around social issues of solidarity, social inclusion and change.

The approach was and is to connect and honor long term civil society actors in the Danube region, from dedicated volunteers, individuals, to smaller and bigger organizations, networks, and further connecting to participants from ministries, state government and also international guests. Over the last 8 years a fine and cooperative spirit developed among all the participants.

Academically proceedings are rooted in the three-sector model of state market and civil society according to the Center of Social Investment and Innovation (CSI) of Heidelberg University.

(The main institutional partners for project development and execution are Agapedia foundation network, Stiftung Liebenau, Diakonisches Werk in Baden, Baden-Württemberg Foundation and Baden-Württemberg State Ministry.)
